Winter Sunlight

     It's cold today.

All day, there's been a white rage blowing out my window. This afternoon I went for a walk with Willie, and just as we were on our way back the snow started to clear. The sky calmed, the clouds softened, and the sun came out. After I put Willie away I dashed into the house to grab my camera, so I could take some of the beauty with me before the sun went away.

Because my daddy's truck is just so awesome.

(And so are my yellow boots.)

It was so beautiful, I just had to share the pictures with someone. Plus, I rarely take good pictures, so when I do it's an event to be celebrated. ;-)

  1. Oh, it's SNOW!!! The photos ARE beautifully gorgeous, Emma. :-) Gosh, and I'm gonna have to get me some yellow gumboots. ;-D Also, your 'truck' is really spiffy looking! ;-) We call that a 'ute' here. The pictures are ssooo pretty. I'll have to show them to my Mum. :-)
Oh, and another thing you might find a little interesting - I finished my 'novel' I was working on! The one about the girl in the concentration camp during world war 2! I finished it yesterday! :-D It was rather exciting, although I was sorry to say goodbye to those characters, haha. ;-) I have to edit it now, (I'm doing a story writing course that I'm beginning next week, and Mum suggested I use that to help me edit it) and then begin another one I've got planned (I'm still writing two others, although one is really more of a shorter story). So yes, that was very exciting. It's taken me probably over a year to write the first draft, and I'm quite happy with it. It sure needs to be edited before anyone lays eyes on it though, haha. :-P

    2. Haha, well, you never can tell. ;-P Aww, thanks. :-) Hehe, actually, Naomi said exactly the same thing. (Surprising? Nope. :-P) I would be happy to have you and Naomi beta-read for me. (I've never had anyone 'beta-read'. I know what it means, it just sounds funny. ;-D) I just want to add that don't expect anything too amazing. ;-) It's not going to be the most interesting or well-written story you've read. ;-) All the same, once it's in better condition and my Mum has given me the thumbs up, I'd be happy for you to read it and maybe give me some tips or hints. :-)
Oh, and have I mentioned that your header is scrumptious? Because it is. And the bunny in your profile picture is so incredibly cute. Our menagerie has grown by...18, since I last wrote to you. ;-) I'll have to tell you about that in a letter, hehe. (As a hint - it includes chickens, budgies and guinea pigs.)

    1. Olivia, that's what I was trying to capture. By the time I'd gotten my camera and ran back outside, the sun had disappeared behind a cloud! But then it came back out again, and I was so happy. :-)

  4. SNOW!!!!!!

Oh, dear, I miss the snow so much. I wish I still lived up North . . .

Thanks so much for sharing your lovely pictures! I really loved how you captured the winter sunset--that used to be one of my favorite things about Northern winter weather :-)

  9. The sun peeking through the trees over the snow is priceless. I love the contrast between the icy ground and warm, radiant light ^_^

  10. So pretty! And I love your boots. :) Jealous of your snow; we got a little, but it's all melted now. Hopefully there will be more before March.
