'Twas The Day Before Christmas

IT'S CHRISTMAS EVE LADIES AND GENTLEMEN. (Assuming there's anyone of the male variety who reads my blog. Well, I know of at least one. ;-P)

It's Christmas Eve! Which means Christmas is TOMORROW. Which means there's lots to be done -- cookies to make, presents to wrap, projects to finish, and bunny cages to clean. (Well, for me. Probably not for you.) Songs to be sung, stockings to hang, candles to light. And lots of excitement swirling in the air. :-)

Brett and Ashton are reading Corgiville Christmas

I have four things to tell you:

One: That my bestie Naomi has made a beautiful Christmas video, and you should all go over to her blog and watch it right now. Naomi is the best at making videos. (Speaking of the dear girl, there's a shiny green-and-silver package under my Christmas tree RIGHT AT THIS VERY MINUTE which has been the cause of my slow demise from curiosity for the past month and tomorrow I get to open it!!!)

Two: That you are all of you so very special to me. Really. This little blog o'mine has been such a happy blessing time and time again, because of all my awesome readers who stick with me and take the time to be not just nameless stalkers (even though that's okay too), but really truly friends. I'm still amazed that people actually want to read all this gibberish I write. I am soooooo grateful for ALL of you and I love you very much! Christmas is a good time to tell people that you love them.

Three: "For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is risen!" Christmas is about the spirit of giving; it's about God's indescribable gift to us -- Jesus. Don't y'all forget that. ;-)

Four: MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!  If I could I would send you all a present, but...I can't. So I'm sending you all the best wishes for a happy, joyful, cozy, blessed Christmas!

Love,
Emma

  1. Your tree is like, the exact opposite of mine. :-) It looks good, though.

    1. I know! I love your tree, if I didn't tell you before. ;-P

IN A FEW HOURS I WILL KNOW!

Yes, I had to take it. ;-) They were hopping about while we decorated the tree, and Sadie gave them that book to read.

  4. YAY IT'S CHRISTMAS EVE AND I'M SO EXCITED!!! Yes, projects to finish and presents to wrap :) I've still got two projects to finish and ALL of my presents to wrap. I'm not usually that far behind but SCHOOL and all that . . . and then I promptly got sick on Christmas break. I still rather have a cold. Ick :(

Haha, I know all about dying of curiousity :) Our relatives live very very far away and every year they send us an enormous box of presents to make up for it. It's sitting in our laundry room right now :P

YES! I feel like running around spreading love and joy :) I can't do that because of my cold. But it's the spirit that counts, isn't it?
So - Merry Christmas, Emma!! *sends internet hugs*

We saw Call the Midwife yesterday? Have you ever seen it? I HIGHLY recommend it (although at times its super sad and a bit gory)

Here's to another year of blogging! =D

I've heard a lot about Call the Midwife, but I haven't seen it. It sounds like something I'd like.

Okay! Sounds good. I'll just keep hanging on to the bookmark.

  7. A Very Happy Christmas from one of your male readers!

And you don't write gibberish. Most of the time at least. In fact, I find your writing to be fresh, evocative, clear, and exuberant.

  9. Merry Christmas Emma! I've loved reading your blog ever since I found it about a year ago, maybe? Anyway, you always have such great posts, and it's inspired me to finally start a non-school blog of my own! It's called Lavender Spring, and the address is http://violetcottage.blogspot.com/
    Have a very merry Christmas!

  10. Haha, wow, your Christmas tree is almost bare compared to ours (ours is loaded with decorations, because every child gets a new one every year, and when the eldest is 23....yes, well you can imagine. ;-P)! Ours is a little, *ahem* lopsided.
We don't normally do any of that on Christmas Eve except the singing and candle part. :-P Our Christmas Day has just ended. *sniff* Ended for another year. What a sad thought. (It came and went way too quickly!)
Haha, that bunny picture is too cute. ;-D
Oh, you must tell us what Naomi gave you! (Now I'm dying to know what the present is. Haha. :-P)
Aww. *wipes eyes* That's so sweet. :-) And yes, Christmas IS a good time to tell people you love them. Although it's never a bad time to tell them that. ;-)
Yes, they always make a big fuss about Christmas is the time for giving (especially people trying to sell something ;-P) but they leave out the most important part - that it's about the greatest gift we can ever get. And that we can ALL get it. :-)
I shall just pretend your well wishes for Christmas are all wrapped in a little box with a ribbon, and I found it in the mail this morning. :-) Thank you, Emma. I hope you have an amazing Christmas too! One that is the best it can be without snow, (which is what we only get :-P) and one that is so packed with wonderful memories that you'll never forget it. :-)

    1. Thank you so much for your comment, Miss Meg! I hope your Christmas was absolutely lovely too. :-)

Haha. This was the biggest tree we've ever had, so the ornaments are a little more spread out than they normally are. But yes, I can imagine what your tree must look like after all those years of ornaments!

Of COURSE you're curious, dear. ;-P Haha. Naomi gave me a lovely brown notebook to write stories in (because one can never have too many notebooks), a bookmark she made, her old copy of Rilla of Ingleside (I knew she was giving me that ;-P) and our first 14 emails printed out, which was very special. :-)

Aww, thank you for your well wishes, friend!
