In Which We Celebrate a Birthday...

(Emma's words in blue and Naomi's in pink.)

Today is the birthday of a very special girl & a dear friend. (Well, tomorrow for me, but today for her, because she lives in the future -- time zones, y'know.) You may know her -- she likes to hang around the blogging world (I say 'hang' meaning it in the very best way :-)), leave kind comments and say things that make people smile. She's an imaginative soul, an inspiring personality, and a real lover of life. So who is this girl? Most of you know her as Miss Meg March. I know her by another name (which I don't need to tell you, mwahahaha). The fact is, she doesn't know that I know it's her birthday today, so this is meant to be a surprise. (Shhhhh. Don't tell her.) ;-P

     HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MISS MEG!!!

Sometimes you meet a person and immediately something 'clicks' inside you know you've found a kindred spirit. So it was when I first met Miss Meg. She started commenting here on The Blog back in the spring, and right away I knew we were going to be friends. (At first it may have had something to do with the fact that she watched Horatio Hornblower and seemed to understand my love for Archie Kennedy...but that's immaterial.) ;-) We started talking, and found we shared so many interests -- it was miraculous! I started to look forward to Miss Meg's comments every time I published a post, wondering "what will Miss Meg say about this?"
You are most certainly one of Us, even though you have no blog and no account, and all that. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, dear. I know what it's like to be an Anonymite, and I'm so happy that I know you. (Also, you watch Lark Rise, sooo. Obviously we are friends.) Your comments always make me smile, because they shine out happiness and golden sparkles. So thank you for that - for commenting on Every Single Post (how kind is that?) and for your love and your exclamation marks and your words. We 'precciate you. You're the kind of person I can't really imagine not smiling. :-) (And that says a whole bunch, you know, because, my imagination is rather large.)

You truly are a kindred spirit, Miss Meg! I'm grateful we can share fandoms and book recommendations. :-) Thank you for all your comments and all your enthusiasm -- it's contagious! I'm looking forward to getting to know you better, and I hope many of your wishes come true in your new year. (Not all of them, because that would leave you with nothing to wish for - but a lot of them. :-))
So Happy Birthday, Miss Meg! We hope your fifteenth year proves to be the best yet. We also hope you have an amazing day with a big Birthday cake as well as left over Christmas cake, and loads of fun and presents, and all that. Happy, Happy Birthday, and thank you for being such a dear friend! :-)

Love,
Emma & Naomi

I hope your day was WONDERFUL! :) I'm so glad you're a part of this blogging community, and I must echo Naomi in saying, "Your comments make me smile," because they truly do. I'm always happy to see a comment from you in my dashboard! :D You're a dear sweet girl, Miss Meg, and I'm honored to share a "last name" with you! (Heehee. ;))

    1. Hello, Miss March!
Sorry I took so long to get back to you, I've been really busy. :/ Better late than never, though! Thank you so much for your kind words. :) You make me laugh a great deal, Miss March, for we really DO think the same (I never got around to replying to your comment on your blog...but YES, I totally feel as though a short comment is NOT good enough! Haha.) Aww, thank you, you make me feel so special. <3

    1. Oh, thank you, Hamlette! Aww, really?! Well, I've decided that I'm going to make my year of fifteen as best as I can. :D Oh, and also, I have a confession to make. I actually read your blog, but I've never commented on it. *sheepish grin* Sorry, I guess? :P I have only been reading it for about...8 months? But I never commented because I really can't add much to what you say. Except that I loved your post you wrote about how Cowboy and you met, I find your writing very amusing, I saw In the Heart of the Sea before I saw Star Wars 7 too, and I think the 3:10 to Yuma movie made in 2007 is better than the one made in 1957. *runs and hides* :P (It's probably because of two certain actors called Russel Crowe and Christian Bale, though. That might be it. I reckon those are the two actors I've seen the most movies of, ever.)

    1. Well, soooooooorry. ;-P Actually I purposely did that because the last paragraph is from BOTH of us, so I didn't make it either color. You got a problem with that?

    2. Oh, nope, that's fine. (I thought it was a mistake because I did write it. :-P) I have no problem with that. :-)

  6. OHHH EMMA. Where do I start?! How do I begin?! EEEEKKK!! :-P So when I first clicked on this, I was like, "Oh hey, it's somebody's birthday, haha....but wait a minute, yours and Naomi's birthday isn't till January/February I thought....and my birthday is today...is this.....OH MY WHAT IS THIS ABOUT ME. AAAAAHHHHH." I read this while having all these little happy butterflies swirling in my stomach and all these excited chills coming over me. I was so stoked and happy and words can't describe. It's just so sweet of you. :-) So, first of all, can I just say your line about my being in the future cracked me up (and my parents - I had to show them your wonderful post, and they smiled the whole way through, too!) a whole lot. :-D Aww, all those lovely things you said....I don't know if I deserve them. :-) THANK YOU. Haha, no, I DIDN'T know you knew it was my birthday! (Why that sneaky girl Naomi... ;-P) You certainly surprised me as much as you could wish for, haha. You could have knocked me over with a feather. :-P I 'clicked' with you (and Naomi, too, of course ;-D) when I first saw your blog. :-) Oh, haha, and good old Archie. He's still totally my favourite over Horatio. (ALWAYS AND FOREVER!) Oh, thank you so much dear, I can't wait to see what this new year coming up holds, and that we can get to know each other better through out it! :-) Haha, and thank you, you're very considerate about me not having ALL my wishes coming true... ;-P
Aww...thank YOU for being such a kind friend. :-) I feel as though I need to have a blog so I can do this for you! ;-) I don't know what to say. I wish I could just give you a big hug and let me doing something nice for you now. :-) Just, THANK YOU.
Also, I got the DVD of Newsies for my birthday!!!!! :-D And I JUST SAW IT!!! IT WAS SO WONDERFUL. I wish I could go into detail but it's almost midnight here and I must be going to bed...I'll tell you all about it soon! :-)

    1. We hoped you would be wildly surprised!!!!! It was Naomi's idea, actually -- that is, she told me when your birthday was and said we should write something for you, and I heartily agreed. :-) You're so very welcome! I hope your birthday was lovely and special and always-to-be-remembered.

Ahhhh, you got NEWSIES! I'm so glad you loved it! (Warning: the Broadway show is even better, in some ways at least.) I'm sure we'll be talking about this more later. ;-P

YOU'RE WELCOME. :-) Love you dear!

    1. Thank you Rosie. :) Yes, fifteen! It's pretty scary...(although almost everyone that's wished me a happy birthday, *ahem*, face to face, thinks I'm turning 16. Like, even my dad. :P) Never mind, I haven't been fifteen yet and I can't wait to see what this year brings. :D

  9. Emma! It's me, Meg. I'm just popping in to ask a random question. :-D So, I have some extended family members asking for birthday present ideas for me, and at the moment I can only think of one thing, because ever since last night, my brain has been screaming NEWSIES!! As I've got the movie, the next obvious choice would be the soundtrack...I remember you mentioning you had the CD. *checks back to see which post* It was on your "My Top Five Favorite Broadway Songs {at the moment...}" post, in the comments. Is your CD from the Original Broadway Cast Recording? That's what I was after, the soundtrack (or CD) of the Original Broadway Music. :-) Also, where did you get it? :-P (I'm REALLY hoping you're not going to say, "I picked it up at our local store" or something like that, haha. I am hoping to get it online, you see...) Okay, so that's my main question....the other one is just a random one out of curiosity. :-P I was talking to my Mum about the CD (my whole family watched the movie minus my two brothers, so they're all acquainted with it now) and we were wondering how it started. Is it a book? Do you know if the movie came first, or the Broadway show? (I feel like I'm giving you a "How Well Do You Know Newsies Quiz", haha. :-P) Anyways, must dash, there's a line up for the computer... :-P

    1. I feel like answering these. :-P Yes, you can get the Newsies Broadway CD from amazon, and the movie came out first. I'll let Emma answer all the rest. :-)

    2. Haha, I know how that is -- for pretty much the whole month of October my brain was screaming NEWSIES and not much else. I highly recommend the Broadway recording! I got it at a Barnes and Noble (which I'm guessing you probably don't have in Australia), but I'm sure you could get it online on Amazon or someplace, and probably for a lot cheaper.

The movie was made in 1994 and the musical didn't come out till 2012, so obviously the movie came first. It's not based on a book, as far as I know, but it is based on some true accounts from that period. I'm not sure how it all started. There's a book about the making of it that I really want to read, though. ;-)

    3. Haha, Naomi. ;-P Thank you to BOTH of you. ;-)
Okay, thanks, I'll scout around for it on Amazon and such like...oooohh, cool. That's funny, normally they make the musical, and THEN the movie. Oh well. :-D And comparing the Broadway recording to the movie, the former IS better, although I'm still super happy with the movie! :-) (Have you seen the movie?) Anyways, I gotta go...it's nearly midnight. :-/

P.S. I saw Les Mis today. I don't see how I can ever return to common life again. (I'll tell you ALLL about it...just give me a whole month to figure out how I can put all these feelings into words!!!)

    1. Thanks, Miss March! I literally JUST put it up! ;-)

It was kind of complicated to make, this time -- I used a template from Shabby Blogs and then added my own pictures using PicMonkey. Very time-consuming, but I think it was worth it.

  11. Heavens above!!! EMMA. THAT HEADER.

I saw Miss March's comment, so of course I had to come and see "what you did with the place", and I LOVE IT! And not just the header…the background, the refurbished sidebar…it's just awesome :) *wild applause*
