Period Drama Gentlemen's Apparel Game// {2}

Has it really been almost a whole YEAR since I had a game here? *gasp* We must remedy that! I was musing about what kind of game to do this week, and I finally just decided to do another of the Gentlemen's Apparel games, because 1) this game was my own original idea, and 2) I love men from period dramas. And I'm guessing y'all do too. :-)

So! To play, just look at the cropped pictures below, guess what period drama it comes from, the character's name, and the actor's name who plays the character. Leave your guesses in a comment, and answers will be posted next week! Have fun!

(And sorry some of the pictures are blurry. ;-P)

And a bonus question....who are these two fellers?

(And yes, I realize there is an obvious abundance of cowboys...what did you expect?)

I'm so happy! And I like the kind you chose - although I don't know many of them. I don't know that many cowboys, you see. :-P

    1. Belle 2013, the Tom Wilkinson man?
    2. True Grit
    3. Hildagoo? (I'm just listing all your western movies here. :-P)
5.This looks like Gettysburg (I'm listening to the soundtrack now - SO GOOD AND EPIC IT IS.)
    6. Amazing Grace, Wilberforce, Ioan Gruffudd
    7. Aha! There you go. Archie Kennedy, Horatio Hornblower!
    8. Becoming Jane, Mr Lefroy, James Mc Avoy
    9. Mr Bush, Our Mutual Friend
    10. Piorot, Piorot (or whetever his name is)
    11. Mr Carson! Downton Abbey, Jim Carter
    12. I'm guessing Lonesome Dove for the movie

Bonus Questions: I'm guessing one of them is Brad Pitt :-P

Oh Emma! You didn't include ANY Austen hero's! I'm saaad. (HA.)
Eck, I did really bad, though - but hopefully some of the guesses were lucky ones. Fingers crossed! :-)

  2. 1. Matthew Goode as Dido's father in Belle.
    2. Viggo Mortenson as Frank T. Hopkins in Hidalgo?
    3. Mel Gibson as Benjamin Martin in The Patriot?
    4. Robert Duval as Gus in Lonesome Dove.
    5. James Read as General George Hazzard in North and South.
    6. Ioan Gruffudd as William Wilberforce in Amazing Grace.
    7. The legend Robert Linsday as the good Captain Pellew in Hornblower.
    8. James McAvoy as Tom Lefroy in Becoming Jane.
    9. Paul McGann as Eugene Rayburn in Our Mutual Friend.
    10. David Suchet as the eponymous Hercule Poirot.
    11. Jim Carter as Mr. Carson in Downton Abbey?
    12. Kevin Costner in Silverado?
    13. Oh, them's the two brothers from A River Runs Through It! One of em's Brad Pitt, that's all I know.

  3. Ooh…challenge accepted;)

    #1: Belle--Captain Sir John Lindsey--Matthew Goode

    #2: Hidalgo (squeee so many FEELS!)--Frank T. Hopkins--Viggo Mortensen

#3: I'm guessing this is from Remember the Alamo, perhaps? Other than that, I got nothin'.

    #4: Lonesome Dove--Augustus McCrae--Robert Duvall :)

#5: Somebody from North and South?

    #6: Hmm…Amazing Grace--William Wilberforce--Ioan Gruffudd? Just a guess…

    #7: Horatio Hornblower--either Horatio or Archie Kennedy--dunno…

    #8: Becoming Jane--Tom Lefroy--James McAvoy

    #9: Our Mutual Friend--Eugene Wrayburn--Paul McGann

    #10: Haven't the faintest...

    #11: Downton Abbey--Carson or Bates--Jim something-or-other or Brendan Coyle?

    #12: …Nope…from Silverado, maybe?

  4. I only now one...*hangs head in shame*
Mr. Carson from Downton Abbey as #11.. :)

  5. 9 is Gilbert Blythe
11 is Mr. Carson from Downton
And 5 is a half-guess on my part...someone from Gods and Generals. :)

  6. I think #3 might be Benjamin Martin (Mel Gibson) in "The Patriot"

#4 might be Kevin Sorbo in "Shadow on the Mesa"

Could #5 be Jonas Steele (Stacy Keach) in "The Blue and the Gray"?

#7 looks like it's from a "Horatio Hornblower," but those don't look like Ioan's hands to me, so I'm guessing it's Jamie Bamber as Archie Kennedy.

#12 is Jake (Kevin Costner) in "Silverado"

I'd love it if you'd drop me a line or two! I always enjoy receiving comments from readers and friends. I ask that you please keep your comments clean and God-honoring, and please don't write anything you wouldn't want your grandmother to read.
