Christmas Carol Lyrics Game

Since Christmas is only five days away (FIVE DAYS, people!) I thought, why not do a Christmas carol lyrics game? I love most all Christmas carols and to me they are a very special part of the season. Below are verses from ten different traditional Christmas carols. Try to guess which carol the verse comes from; most of them are later verses from very well-known carols and I tried not to make it too tricky, so I hope it isn't! : P Leave your guesses in a comment, and answers will be posted next week! Have fun! :-)

Carol #1

For Christ is born of Mary, and gathered all above
While mortals sleep, the angels keep their watch of wond'ring love.

Carol #2

Born to raise the sons of earth
Born to give them second birth.
Light and life to all He brings,
Ris'n with healing in His wings.

Carol #3

Now when they came to Bethlehem,
   Where our sweet Savior lay,
They found Him in a manger,
   Where oxen feed on hay.

Carol #4

   Come to Bethlehem and see
Him Whose birth the angels sing
   Come adore on bended knee
Christ the Lord, our newborn King.

Carol #5

The star drew nigh to the northwest.
Over Bethlehem it took its rest,
And there it did both stop and stay
Right over the stable where Jesus lay.

Carol #6

    The rising of the sun,
    The running of the deer,
The playing of the merry organ,
    The singing in the choir.

Carol #7

     Sing, choirs of angels,
     Sing in exultation,
O sing, all ye citizens of Heav'n above:
"Glory to God, glory in the highest."

Carol #8

     Dream, dream, dream,
Of the joyous day to come.
    While guardian angels without number,
Watch you as you sweetly slumber.
    Dream, dream, dream,
Of the joyous day to come.

Carol #9

I thought how, as the day had come,
   The belfries of all Christendom
Had rolled along the unbroken song
Of peace on earth, good will to men.

Carol #10

   From the distant mountains
   Hear the trumpet sound
  With angelic blessings
  On the silent town.

What are some of your favorite Christmas carols?
